Storage advice
Closed: Recommended to store cool and dry (not in the refrigerator). Packaged in protected atmosphere. Open: Close the can tightly immediately after use. Keep cool and dry. Once opened, use within one month.Preparation: Discard leftover food within 1 hour.
General information
Heparon Junior provides 12 g protein equivalent per 100 grams. The daily dose of Heparon Junior must be determined by the doctor or dietician and depends on age, weight and medical condition.
Heparon Junior is available in pharmacies or from a facility company.
Usage advice
The amount and concentration of the food must be determined by the doctor or dietician and depends on the age, weight and medical condition of the patient.
Recommended concentration is 18% (=18 g Heparon Junior/90 ml water). The osmolality of this solution is 285 mOsmol/kg. Initially, a lower concentration may be necessary.
Preparation
Preparation of the recommended 18% nutrient concentration: 90 ml pre-boiled water or slightly mineralized spring water + 4 level measuring spoons (1 measuring spoon = 4.5 g). Always use the supplied measuring spoon.
- Wash your hands and clean the preparation surface. Sterilize the bottle and teat.
- Boil fresh water for 5 minutes or, if using an electric kettle, until it turns off. Allow to cool for at least 30 minutes until it feels warm on the wrist.
- Pour the recommended amount of water into a sterilized baby bottle. Fill the supplied measuring spoon with powder and remove excess powder with a clean, dry knife. Do not press the powder into the measuring spoon.
- Add the recommended amount of measuring spoons of powder to the water. Close the bottle with the cap and shake until the powder is completely dissolved. Check the temperature on the inside of your wrist.
- Any food left in the bottle should be discarded after 1 hour. Do not reheat the food.
Important notice : Powdered infant formula is not sterile. Infant formula should always be prepared immediately before feeding.
Shake or stir immediately before use. The food should not be heated for more than 15 minutes before use. Do not allow food to boil, prepare or reheat in the microwave.
