Food for medical use. Dietary food for proven (non-vitamin B6 responsive) homocystinuria (HCU), CBS deficiency or hypermethioninemia in infants from birth to 12 months of age and as a supplement in children up to 3 years of age. To be used under medical supervision.
HCU Anamix infant is a methionine-free powdered diet food based on amino acids. It contains essential and non-essential amino acids, carbohydrates, fats, vitamins, minerals and trace elements.
Cannot be used as a sole source of nutrition, but should be given in combination with another protein source to meet methionine requirements.

Storage advice
Closed: Recommended to keep cool and dry.
Open: Use within 2 weeks after opening. Always close the can tightly after use. Packaged in protected atmosphere.
Prepared: Prepared food can be kept for a maximum of 24 hours, provided it is covered and stored in the refrigerator. However, for infants under 6 months of age, use the food within 1 hour of preparation and throw away any leftover food.
General information
One portion (15 grams of powder mixed with water to 100 ml) of HCU Anamix infant provides 2 grams of protein equivalent.
The daily dose of HCU Anamix infant must be determined by a doctor or dietician and depends on the age, weight and medical condition of the patient.
HCU Anamix infant is available from the pharmacy or a facility company.
Preparation
The daily amount should be divided into portions throughout the day and preferably given in combination with a natural protein source. It is recommended to dissolve 15 grams of powder (3 scoops) in 90 ml of water.
- Pour the required amount of boiled water, cooled to body temperature, into a sterile feeding bottle.
- Add the prescribed number of level measuring spoons to the water in the baby bottle.
- Twist the cap on the feeding bottle and shake until the powder is dissolved.
- Before feeding, check the temperature of the food on the inside of the wrist.
