Description
The Flocare® PUR Naso Gastric Suction Tube is a PUR nasogastric tube, specially developed for enteral feeding in combination with gastric decompression and/or aspiration. The tube is equipped with an ENFit connector for administering tube feeding and a funnel-shaped connector for siphoning or aspirating stomach contents.
Indication
- tube feeding through the stomach combined with gastric decompression
- short use of tube feeding
Usage
- To administer tube feeding, only use the ENFit power connector (marked ‘FEEDING’ on the Y connection). The universal connector (with “!” imprint on the Y connection) may not be used for feeding.
- During the administration of nutrition, the clamp on the universal connector must remain closed to prevent loosening of the cap due to building up pressure due to backflow of nutrition
- When using the universal connector, the clamp on the feeding connector must remain closed to prevent reflux of stomach contents through the feeding connector
- Close the connectors with the supplied caps when no nutrition is being administered or aspirating. It is recommended to open both clamps as a continuously closed clamp may damage the probe.
