Flocare Bengmark PEG-J Probe

Description

The Flocare® Bengmark™ PEG-J is a jejunal tube Ch 9 used in combination with the Flocare® PEG Ch 18.

If you are receiving tube feeding for more than 3 weeks and feeding into the stomach is not possible, the Flocare® Bengmark™ PEG-J tube is the most comfortable solution.

The Flocare® Bengmark™ PEG-J tube is an ostomy tube. Before this tube is placed, a Flocare® PEG tube is first placed in the stomach under anesthesia. The Flocare® Bengmark™ PEG-J tube is advanced endoscopically through the placed Flocare® PEG tube into the small intestine. The tube feeding therefore ends up through the tube, past the stomach, into the small intestine.

The Bengmark coil at the end of the tube nestles against the intestinal wall. This prevents the tube from moving back into the stomach.

The first placement is an operation that is sometimes dreaded. However, experience shows that most users would have liked to have been informed earlier about the Flocare® Bengmark™ PEG-J probe. The doctor will inform you about this.

Usage advice

The Flocare® Bengmark™ PEG-J tube is often used in combination with the Flocare® Infinity™ feeding pump. This feeding pump is very compact and lightweight and ensures reliable administration of the correct amount of tube feeding.
